Canning/Preserving

We are currently putting the infrastructure in place to offer even more than horticulture and culinary arts vocational training.  With a high production farm, orchard, vineyard and commercial-grade kitchen, we intend to expand the curriculum to offer certification in canning/preserving.

This microenterprise will offer our residents (and outside students) a wider range of vocational skills-building including food production and packaging, marketing and branding, product sales, and business management.

Preserved foods also helps to extend the availability of high-quality food options and offers an exciting opportunity for new receipe creations.

And if that weren’t enough..we’re also pretty excited about how launching this enterprise resurrects Baltimore’s canning history and re-introduces a craft that has been practiced for generations.
