We are currently recruiting for the following position(s):

Residence Director

The Residence Director is the lead administrator for the TSW Residence program and is responsible for the planning, execution, evaluation and reporting of the program.

Priority Duties

  • Responsible for ensuring that the program’s 1) Academic, 2) Vocational,  3) Health/Wellness, 4) Relational and 5) Spiritual pillars are upheld at all times
  • Responsible for compliance with the standards for a Licensed Residential Facility caring for homeless veteran women and other applicable standards
  • Works with the Clinical Director to ensure the integrity of the intake and exit process for all new residents
  • Will be the point of contact with the Veterans Administration on all issues related to the residents
  • Works closely with the TSW Executive Director and Office Manager on financial reporting, Veteran Administration’s per diem and/or other compliance or reporting requirements
  • Responsibility for overseeing the facility operation in its entirety, including the supervision of Clinical Director, House Moms, Counselors and Volunteers
  • Serve as convener of the Residence Advisory Committee and be committed to using this pool of talent as a resource to guide the program
  • Reviews all Incident Reports and feedback from residents or staff to proactively make changes to the program that ensure safety, health, harmony and growth
  • Obtains periodic feedback from residents and Residence Program staff on the volunteers and their contributions.  Record feedback in volunteer database
  • A master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or other human services field and a combination of 4 years of professional and management/supervisory experience working with homeless adults or families
  • Success in working in a grassroots, entrepreneurial organization
  • Strong Christian convictions and a commitment to integrating faith and therapy as part of an overall healing program

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a local and federal background check
  • Must be 21 and have a valid driver’s license and be insured

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a grass root organization
  • Experience collaborating with community-based and/or government agencies
  • Experience facilitating or organizing meetings
  • Good public speaking skills & proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • History of working with traumatized women who have experienced homelessness, substance abuse, sexual exploitation or other trauma related issues
  • Note:  This is a residential facility for females only.  Therefore, the candidate for the position must be a female.

Commitment and Compensation

This position is being initially offered at part-time, estimated at 20-24 hours/week. Expect the position to scale to 3/4 or full-time within the year. This positions report to the TSW Executive Director and will share office space in the Administration building.  Some level of telework is supported for this position.  The annual full-time compensation for this position is $45,000, and will be adjusted based on actual hours incurred.  Medical and retirement benefits are not offered for this position.

Clinical Director

The Clinical Director oversees the planning, execution and evaluation of the therapeutic components of the TSW Residence program.

Priority Duties

  • Defines, performs, and refines the intake process for residents entering the TSW Residence program
  • Conducts interval assessment of residents’ progress and makes recommendation for next level of care
  • Constructs and manages a therapeutic plan for each resident that is Biblically-based and medically-sound
  • Primary focus on case management and treatment planning for each resident
  • Integrates external resources, programs and services to provide a diverse and comprehensive care package for TSW residents
  • A master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and a combination of 4 years of therapeutic practice
  • Specific experience with addiction, sexual abuse, and/or PTSD and related therapies
  • History of working with traumatized women who have experienced homelessness, substance abuse, sexual exploitation or other trauma related issues
  • Ability to provide psychosocial treatment to veteran female population without significant supervision
  • Knowledge of medical and mental diagnoses and familiarity using DSM-IV to make diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Knowledge and experience with empirically supported treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies
  • Ability and willingness to work on a team that supports the clinical, social, spiritual, and educational goals of clients
  • Willingness to adapt to fluid environment
  • Some familiarity with the issues of human trafficking and victim profiles
  • Experience in Christian or Biblical counseling. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical exam & TB test
  • Copy of current license in the human services field and 3 professional references.
  • Must pass a local and federal background check

  • CPR/First Aid Certification, Drug Test

Status:                  Two positions are available.  One shift is Monday 6:30am through Friday 1:00pm and the second shift is Friday 11:00am through Monday 6:30am

 House Mom

NOTE:  We are recruitin for two positions of House Mom.

We seek a mature, emotionally-balanced woman possessing a strong faith conviction.  She will support the TSW Residence by overseeing the daily living environment and providing a supporting role to the residents.  Primary duties include ensuring household cleanliness and residents’ safety. The Housemother will work closely with the Resident Director, Counselor and Executive Director in the oversight of the women in the program.

Responsibilities: Domestic

  • Hold the residents accountable to ensuring that the house is kept clean, safe and habitable at all times. Advise the Resident Director and Executive Director of any deficiencies in these areas.
  • Report needed repairs to the Facility Manager and/or Director of Operations
  • Maintain pantry and purchase groceries based on prepared menu
  • Assist residents with meal preparation.
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored and served according to ServeSafe food handling guidelines.
  •  Supervision and oversight for the residents’ schedule
  • Provide mentoring to residents in the domestic arts (cleaning, cooking, household budget, grocery shopping, etc.)
  • Provide supervision and ensure that all rules are obeyed and that the residents conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.
  • In some cases, chaperone social activities and programs.
  • Teaching and guiding the residents in matters of social correctness, etiquette and personal courtesies.
  • Provide a trusted and respected ear to residents on a variety of personal topics, connecting them with professional help when necessary.
  •  Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss residents’ progress
  • Oversight for domestic care budget
  • Keep and maintain inventory of household items.
  • Assess, assign and monitor household chores
  • Respond to emergencies, as needed.
  • Maintain a set of keys to all rooms, closets, etc.
  • Write daily activity logs

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to plan and facilitate housework, meal planning and preparation, laundry and the general domestic running of the home.
  • Treat all with dignity and respect and be able to work with diverse members of the community.
  • Must have a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical responsibilities.
  • Maintain a professional distinction from the residents
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Relies on Biblical discernment and Scriptural support for problem-solving
  • Must have the ability to be flexible with time based on residence home needs.
  • Able to effectively enforce all household policies and procedures

  • Able to communicate and enforce boundaries without conflict

  • Ability to work under stress

Certifications

  • Must have a current, valid Maryland drivers’ license.
  • Successfully pass background checks and random drug testing.
  • Current CPR and First-Aid certification from the Red Cross or other licensed agency.

 Commitment and Compensation

This is a contractual position based on approximately 30-35 hours/week.  The work shifts are either Monday morning through midday Friday, or midday Friday through Monday morning.  The House Mom is expected to live on the property during her shift.  No supplemental employee benefits are being offered at this time.
