Development

The Development Committee’s primary objective is to grow the visibility and financial stability of the organization.  These are the business folks, who have a heart for the ministry, and also see the pragmatic necessity of having great relationships and the money needed to do the work.  This committee oversees the marketing, public relations, and strategic relationships, as well as fund-raising activities and key financial partnerships.

Events

The Events Committee’s primary goal is to envision, define, and execute a number of public events that support the goals of the Development Committee.  Their job is to draw people in to TSW and inspire them to become a part of this big work.   These are the “party planners” and professional host/hostesses who make coming to TSW an amazing and memorable experience.

Property

The Property Committee is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and efficient operations of the grounds and buildings on the TSW estate.  These are the “git er done” folks who have a passion for these historic buildings and the incredible landscape and want to make sure that everything works, the people are safe, and it looks great.  The Property Committee attracts professional contractors and tradespersons, skilled craftsmen and hobbyists.

Farm & Food

The Farm & Food Committee’s mission is to grow healthy food and develop creative ways of introducing new foods to the urban palette.  They are responsible for “what goes in the ground, and what comes out of the ground and what goes on the table.”  They work closely with the Farm Manager, Greenhouse Manager and Property Committee to oversee farm operations and production.

Vocational Programs

We aspire to have a Vocational Program that will teach personal living and employable job skills in the areas of horitculture, culinary arts, and derivative food products.  In other words, how to grow food, how to prepare and serve food, and how to create new food products (canning/preserving).  The Vocational Programs Committee must first be about understanding sustainable work skills and the path to independence that comes from having a fulfilling and rewarding vocation.  Their job is to create a program that will help each person realize success.

Residence Program

The Residence Program Committee’s purpose is to define, evaluate, and continually improve our therapeutic residential program for women.  This committee includes those with specific health, medical, social work, clinical, spiritual, or counseling backgrounds, as well as those who have a heart to see broken women moved to wholeness.  Their work is to create our program and ensure that it is meeting the needs of the women who will reside with us.

The Samartian Church

Our TSC Committee is a gathering of impassioned folks who are committed to being a part of the transformational work of the Gospel in the lives of people on the streets.  This Committee attracts urban ministers, social justice workers, street evangelists, and those who feel called to work in challenged situations, with people in desperate need.  Their job is to live among the people we serve and build community, to host events and provide outreach services so that the Light of Christ shines even in the darkest places.

Social Justice: Human Trafficking

Our state-wide initiative against human trafficking focuses on reaching congregations, community leaders, schools, and front-line professionals to raise awareness and mobilize compassion services for victims, perpetrators, and purveyors.  The work of this committee is to develop awareness programs, develop and promote education and skills development for care-givers, and to create specific victim services.  This committee appeals to folks who are willing to walk into the darkness of this evil and believe that God can–and will–redeem all things for good.
